PhaseSlice

5-band split-delay and phase-shaping plug-in
PhaseSlice is a macOS plug-in (AAX / AU / VST3) that goes one step past a band-pass filter: instead of simply isolating a frequency range, it lets you delay only that band and then blend it back with per-band mix, trim, polarity, and phase control.
Latest release: version 1.2.0 with resizable window support.
What it does
- Split the signal into 5 crossover-based bands that sum back together cleanly.
- Delay each band independently with Delay, Mix, and Trim controls.
- Delay time supports up to 50 ms with 0.01 ms control resolution.
- Version 1.2.0 adds resizable window support for a more flexible editing layout.
- Shape interference and depth with Polarity and All-pass phase amount per band.
- Keep the result practical with output trim, limiter, auto gain compensation, and delay smoothing options.

Typical use cases
Kick shaping
PhaseSlice is especially useful on kick drums when you want to reshape the apparent weight, click, or front-edge timing of different frequency areas without simply boosting EQ.
Single-drum design
It also works well on individual drum hits such as snares, toms, or percussion when you want tighter low-end alignment, sharper attack focus, or slightly unusual phase-based texture.
While it can be used more experimentally on other material, the most practical starting point is usually drum sound shaping rather than full-mix processing.
Status
Current release state
- Release status: v1.2.0 is now available.
- Latest update: the plug-in window can now be resized.
- Delay range: maximum Delay remains 50 ms with 0.01 ms control resolution.
- Formats: AAX / AU / VST3 for Apple Silicon macOS.
- Focus: a usable band-delay tool rather than a novelty comb-filter effect.
- Not included: envelope-follow delay is not part of the initial release.

Install

- Launch your host application and rescan plug-ins if needed.
