Version 2.0.0 — Out now.
Latest signed release: 2.0.0 • 2026-04-02
Level Range EQ is a macOS EQ plug-in (AAX / AU / VST3) that lets you apply different EQ curves to different level ranges of the signal — so quiet parts, mid-level parts, and loud parts can each be shaped differently.
Latest downloads are available for macOS 11 or later and Windows VST3. The Windows build matches version 2.0.0, and I have received reports that it works well. Windows AAX support is planned for a future release. This release fixes an AU startup issue reported in Logic Pro where inserting the plug-in immediately after launch and moving EQ bands could produce severe distortion, runaway output, and audio dropout until the plug-in was re-instanced.
Previous: 1.9.1 addressed a loading issue in some environments.
Fixes an AU startup issue reported in Logic Pro where inserting the plug-in immediately after launch and editing EQ bands could produce severe distortion, runaway output, and audio dropout until the plug-in was re-instanced. Also aligns the component metadata version with the released plug-in version.
This update may resolve an issue where the plug-in could fail to load in some environments, but this has not been fully confirmed yet.
Tip: Install the latest signed version (2.0.0).
Keep quiet phrases warm, keep normal phrases clear, and tame harsh peaks — without crushing everything into one curve.
Different tonal balance for low-level room tone vs spoken words vs loud consonants — useful for consistent intelligibility.
Shape sustain and transients differently (e.g., brighten attacks while keeping body smooth).
LevelRangeEQ_2.0.0.pkg (download above).
Note: This installer includes AAX / AU / VST3 builds that target macOS 11 or later.
